نسل هفتم LTO: در LTO-7 که در سال 2015 معرفی شد، بدون توجه به فشرده‌سازی (حالت Native)، حجم ذخیره‌سازی حداکثری به 6 ترابایت رسید، این در حالی است که با درنظر گرفتن فشرده‌سازی این عدد 15ترابایت بوده است. در حالت فشرده، نرخ انتقال دیتا حداکثر 700 مگابایت در ثانیه است، این مقدار در حالت Native کاهش داشته و به 300 مگابایت در ثانیه رسید. نسل هفتم LTO از فناوری‌های WORM، رمزگذاری و پارتیشن‌بندی پشتیبانی می‌کند.
