نسل پنجم LTO: در سال 2010 به بازار معرفی شد که در حالت Native، حداکثر حجم ذخیره‌سازی به 5.1 ترابایت و حداکثر نرخ انتقال دیتا به 140 مگابایت در ثانیه رسید و در حالت فشرده، این پارامترها به‌ترتیب 5.۱ ترابایت و 280 مگابایت در ثانیه بوده است. فناوری که در این نسل افزوده شد ، Partitionning (پارتیشن‌بندی) بوده است که موجب بهبود کنترل فایل و مدیریت فضا به کمک LTFS می گردد. فایل در یک پارتیشن نگه داری می شود و برای ایندکس‌کردن ، پارتیشن دیگری رزرو می‌گردد تا مکان ذخیره فایل روی نوار را به درایو LTO اطلاع دهد.
